According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, views were divided on the quality of education in government schools and private schools.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your view, is the quality of education better at private schools or at government schools?”

Around 54 percent thought that private schools were better whereas 45 percent thought government schools were better. However, 1 percent did not give a response.

Among the respondents who thought private schools had a higher quality of education, 65 percent were urban Pakistanis whereas 48 percent lived in the rural areas of Pakistan.

In a similar question which was asked in a Gallup Pakistan Survey in 2000 from urban Pakistanis, 62 percent believed that the quality of education in private schools was better than the quality of education at government schools.
