Sindh government on Thursday withdrew Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012 bill and announced to restore local government act of 1979.
This was announced by Sindh Law Minister Ayaz Soomro in the provincial assembly amid the protest of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM).The house adopted the bill amid protest by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) whose PMAs encircled the Speaker’s dice and later boycotted the proceedings. On the occasion, MQM’s Faisal Sabzwari delivered his fiery speech in the house and termed the revocation of the SPLGO as injustice to the people of Sindh.
The lawmakers later staged demonstration outside the house, chanting slogans and condemning the decision.
