Shahzain Bugti and several others were acquitted on Thursday in an illegal weapons case due to lack of evidence.
Bugti, along with his guards, had been arrested on December 22, 2010 by security forces after arms and ammunition were seized from his convoy at the Buleli check post. The arms recovered included 48 Kalashnikovs, four rocket launchers, thousands of rockets, mortar shells, five anti-aircraft guns and 70,000 of rounds.
Additional district and sessions Judge Nauroz Khan acquitted the accused on the ground that the prosecution had failed to produce concrete evidences against them.
During the hearing in the additional district and sessions judge court, ten witnesses appeared.
