SLGA hearing adjourned

Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned hearing of petitions filed against Sindh Local Government Act (SLGA) till March 7 due to change in the bench observing stay order issued by it will remain intact.

A three-member bench led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up the case for hearing on Wednesday.

Advocate General (AG) Sindh took the plea rural areas were not included in metropolitan.

CJP remarked “we want to hear the case in details. As the bench is not complete and change has been made therein . Justice Khilji Arif is present in the bench in place of Justice Gulzar, therefore, hearing of the case is being put off till March, 7. Stay order issued by the court will stay during this period”.
