The Joint Action Committee of private schools and colleges associations announced on Wednesday to move the Supreme Court if the Regulatory Authority Bill of private educational institutions was passed without holding consultations with all stakeholders.
In a joint meeting of the action committee, it was demanded that the government should form the regulatory bill after consultation with all the stakeholders.
Participants of the meeting said that the bill had brought 98 percent schools on the verge of destruction. They said that the schools, which were increasing the literacy rate of the country, were the backbone of the educational development of the nation and were being ruined for the benefit of a few persons.
The participants said that the democratic government’s attitude towards them was even worse than that of the Musharraf government. They said that the country needed urgent educational reforms while the rulers were making laws against propagation of education that was unjust and cruel.
The Joint Action Committee announced to launch a campaign against the regulatory bill.
