Preach love & brotherhood in Pakistan : PM

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday called upon the religious scholars hailing from all schools of thought to spread the message of love and brotherhood to ensure peace and stability in the country.

Addressing a conference on interfaith harmony ‚ he said that all religions of the world preach love‚ brotherhood‚ harmony and respect for others’ rights, adding, no religion allows its followers to impose their will and way of life on others. He said every person has the right to practice philosophy and faith of his own choice.

Reprimanding the recent acts of terrorism in the country‚ the Prime Minister said that “it is a matter of grave concern that innocent people including women and children are being targeted in these incidents. Those perpetrating such acts have nothing to do with the humanity”.

The PM agreed that it is duty of the government to ensure a peaceful law and order situation in the country‚however he said that responsibility also rests with all segments of the society to abide by the law and play their role for maintenance of peace and stability.

The PM lamented that acts of terrorism are bringing a bad name to both Pakistan and Islam. He said that “ Hazaras are our brothers and are Pakistani and the entire nation is in distress due to attacks on them”.

He said Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbors including Afghanistan and India. He said soon after assuming the office‚ he visited Kabul. He said that both the countries share a common history and religion‚ and peace and stability of the two are interlinked. NNI
