Nisar writes protests letter to ECP

National Assembly Leader of Opposition Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday, in a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), registered his protest over the “highly objectionable letter” by the ECP.

According to details, Nisar wrote in the letter that the ECP should address and treat parliamentarians with respect instead of maligning their name and publicly humiliating them.

The letter further said that the decision of the Supreme Court required ECP to act against those accused of corruption and the SC had every right to verify their educational degree and certificates. He wrote that the decision by the Supreme Court did not permit the ECP publicly humiliate the parliamentarians. Furthermore, he said that the parliamentarians should be addressed in a roper and civil manner without threatening them with criminal cases.

Nisar said in the letter that he had submitted his O and A level certificates to the ECP authorities before the 2002 election.
