Nine more tube-wells to be installed in Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) decided on Wednesday to install nine more tube-wells in the federal capital to improve water supply to the residents.

The project was expected to be completed at the cost of Rs 18 million.

A CDA official told INP that one tube-well would be installed in each of Sector F-8, I-8 Markaz, Sector I-8/1, Margala Town and Shahzad Town, while four tube-wells would be installed in the National Park area. He said the water supply would improve in the areas with the installation of the tube-wells.

He said earlier, motors of 135 tube-wells were changed with the help of USAID and the civic authority conducted a post audit of the project.

He said currently 37 water filtration plants were functioning in the federal capital while five more filtration plants in sectors G-7, I-9/4, G-9, H-8 and G-10 would be installed to facilitate the masses further.
