The government employees of various departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa went on strike on Wednesday against non implementation of the recommendations of pays and pension commission.
The strike call was given by Employees Coordination Council Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (ECCKP).
ECCKP President Aslam Khan said that provincial government despite repeated assurances was not acting upon the recommendations of the commission regarding giving due rights to public servants. He said that provincial government itself pledged to implement the recommendations prepared by ECCKP but public servants had paid no heed towards the issue forcing employees to take the extreme step.
Aslam Khan said that violation of rights of government employees would not be tolerated any more and strike would continue till recommendations were implemented.
