The High Court of occupied Kashmir has directed the Islamabad Senior Superintendent of Police to entrust the Janglat Mandi fake encounter case to a gazetted officer for necessary inquiry.
Disposing a writ petition, a bench of the High Court presided over by Justice Hasnain Massodi asked SSP Islamabad to submit his inquiry report to DIG South Kashmir Range for further necessary actions.
The court directed the concerned Gazetted officers to carry out the inquiry by remaining unmindful and uninfluenced by the observations made by the court. The Court said the question of compensation to the petitioners would obviously hinge on outcome of the inquiry.
The court said the DIG South Kashmir Range had already taken a decision regarding the matter with a direction to the said SSP to conduct the inquiry in terms of order of August 11, 2011 saying further action be taken in keeping with outcome of inquiry report.
