Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain criticized the decision of Shiite elders to end the country wide protests and Quetta sit-in without taking the bereaved families into confidences and despite their unfulfilled demands.
Altaf was addressing MQM’s Rabta Committee simultaneously in Karachi and London on Wednesday. Altaf Hussain stated that the ‘one-sided’ move to end the sit-in was tantamount to hurting shitte ideology and added that some elements were doing politics over the bodies of Quetta blast victims.
He said that the parliamentary committee sent to Quetta by the government to console the mourners, was an offence to the bereaved families. He said ”when will the bloodshed of innocent youths, children, elders and women come to an end; as millions of rupees are spent on the law-enforcement agencies”, he questioned the army and chiefs of intelligence agencies.
Altaf Hussain urged upon all schools of thoughts to stand united instead of causing brewing wider rifts amongst their followers.
