Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the Quetta terrorist attack as barbaric and condemned it as a criminal act aimed at destabilization the situation in Pakistan.
Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Andrey S. Budnik called on the President Asif Ali Zardari here and delivered a letter from President Vladimir Putin expressing condolences over the loss of lives in the terrorist attack in Quetta the other day.
The letter said that Russia also supports the efforts of the Government of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
The Russian President in his letter also conveyed sympathy and support to the near and dear ones of those killed and wished speedy recovery to all those injured.
President Asif Ali Zardari thanked the Ambassador and asked him to also convey his thanks and appreciation to the Russian President for his gesture.
He said that Pakistan considers Russia as a source of stability and peace both at regional and global level and underlined the need to further strengthen relations and increased contacts at the highest level.
The President also hosted lunch for the Russian Ambassador.
