The Landi Kotal assistant political agent, who was injured in Monday’s suicide bombing on Khyber House, died at CombinedMilitaryHospital on Tuesday.
Khalid Mumtaz Kundi, serving as APA of Landi Kotal, was critically injured when militants attacked Khyber House on Monday.
The attack was carried out by two suicide bombers and resulted in the killing of five security personal and two civilians, while 13 people, including Khalid Mumtaz were injured.
Sources said seven to eight militants, some of them wearing security uniform, attacked the political agent’s office when a meeting of various political parties and tribal elders was underway.
However, police had said only two suicide bombers launched the attack.
But the sources and witnesses said the number of attackers was between seven and eight.
Some attackers succeeded in escaping safely after getting freed some of their detained colleagues who were being detained in Khyber House.
The Khyber House is located in cantonment while the army checkpost is located a few yards away.
