Karachi came to a standstill today as several sit-ins were being held to protest the Shia killings in Quetta.

Markets were closed and several government and private schools remained shut as the protests continued. The protests also caused immense delay in the flight and train schedules.

The protesters at the sit-in wanted that the demands of the deceased’s various families be met.

Parts of the city such as M.A Jinnah road, Numaish Chowrang and Shahrah-i-Faisal were effected by the sit-in’s.

The protests began on Sunday in several parts of the country and there was a demand made to hand over the security of Quetta to the army.
