A consensus has been reached between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), to appoint MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari as Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly.

According to details, a meeting of the MQM’s parliamentary committee of the assembly was held at the chambers of the assembly under the chairmanship of Syed Sardar Ahmed.

Meanwhile, the MQM also submitted request for the opposition benches in the assembly.

It is to be mentioned here that MQM parted its ways with the ruling coalition government of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the federal and Sindh assembly over withdrawal of cases against Lyari gang war criminals.

  1. MQM has become used to be in power. That's why when they realized that being with the government will leave no role for them in the caretaker setup, they chose to play the role of opposition as by doing so they will be consulted as opposition for Sindh caretaker setup. Really they have shown that they are totally a different political party than the rest of Pakistan's political parties. Dr Qadri was grilled in the SC for being Canadian national and taking part in Pakistan politics which is a positive development in the history of Pakistan but could the same rule be applied on MQM leader who is controlling the reins of masses of Karachi being a UK national and moreover from abroad.

  2. nice fooling around by MQM who is insulting people's intelligence by playing 2 weeks of opposition! while played B team for Zardari for whole five years. Now they are against PPP and will try to sit in next government who ever wins!
