The three-day polio vaccination campaign in Karachi and Quetta has been postponed due to an uncertain political situation in the areas after Saturday’s blast in Quetta that claimed at least 84 lives.

The government had announced a three-day anti-polio campaign in Karachi and Quetta on Monday but now it has decided to postpone the campaign  indefinitely.

The administration had planned to vaccinate 1,329,152 children in 123 union councils of 14 towns in Karachi.

After the assassination of lady health workers and volunteers in Karachi last year, polio drive could not take place in the area.
