Will not let MQM ‘topi drama’ be successful: Nisar

Opposition leader in the National Assembly (NA), Chuadhry Nisar Ali Khan stated on Sunday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would not be consulted over the caretaker setup and their “topi drama” would not be successful.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Nisar added that if attempts were made to appoint a member of the MQM as the opposition leader, it would be a deviation from the constitution and a violation of the 20th amendment. “I will travel to Sindh with Nawaz Sharif soon and stop this topi drama” said Nisar.

Nisar added that according to his information, the MQM would sit on the opposition benches and if so, he would oppose them. He also accused the MQM of conspiring with the government over the formation of the caretaker setup.

The opposition leader was also asked to provide his Matric and Intermediate certificate by The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

In his response, Nisar said that he had completed his O’levels in 1968 and A’levels in 1970. Nisar added that fake degree holders came into power during the tenure of Musharraf and were still active today.
