The Lahore men’s team won the Saif Sports Saga Open Men And Women Powerlifting Championship Trophy with 42 points at Greens Banquet Hall Gulberg.
Organizing secretary Aqeel Javed Butt informed that Gujranwala secured second position with 37 points and third was Lahore Gymkhana with 35. The fourth position went to Faisalabad 19 points, 5th was Rawalpindi 14, 6th Kasur 12, 7th Shapes 10 points.

59 kg class: Liaqat Nayamat, Lahore, Mohammad Shahzad, Ahsan Ali winners respectively.
66 kg class, Ahmed Gymkhana , Faisal, Mohammad Arsalan Gujranwala.
74 kg class: Umar Butt Guranwala, Salman Aqeel Butt, Sufyan Lone.
83 kg class: Rameez Raja Shapes, Zeeshan Risat, Umer Gymkhana.
93 kg class: Mohammad Asif Lahore, Hasam Gujranwala, Rana Naeem Faisalabad.
105 kg class: Mohammad Saif National Weightlifting Club and captain Lahore team won gold medal lifting highest total 217. 5kg squat, 182,5 kg bench press , 230 kg dead lift grand total 630 kg. Mohammad Aftab of Qasur silver with 602.5 kg total while third competitor was Ali Asif Waheed of Lahore Gymkhana. The chairman organizing committee of the championship unfortunately got injured. He was attempting 200 kg in squat in his second attempt. 120 kg class Mohammad Ali of Gymkhana gold, Riasat Ali Rawalpindi silver, Umar Meer Lahore.
plus 120 kg class Mohammad Hammad Khan of Gymkhana gold with 597.5 kg total while Mohammad Hamza silver, Reehan Azeem Guranwala won bronze medal.
In all 41 men and 40 women powerlifters participated in the championship. Women powerlifting was held for the first time in the country. Saiful Azam Khan Chairman Saif Sports Saga Malik, Waqar Hussain Divisional Sports officer Lahore, Ch Imran Khalid, former Mr Asia powerlifter distributed trophies, medals, certificates, souvieners among the players and officials. Mohamad Saif received winner trophy.
