CAS Veterans Golf Championship-2013 was held at Lahore Garrison Golf & Country Club (LGG & C Club). Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the Chief Guest at the prize distribution ceremony. The chief guest awarded trophies and prizes to the winners.
Group Captain Khalid Mehmood Shikari and Wing Commander M Omar Khan clinched the coveted trophies in the Veterans’ Categories.
In the seniors’ category, Air Marshal Athar Bokhari, Air Marshal Asim Suleiman and Air Vice Marshal Arshad took away the first, second and third net prizes respectively, while first, second and third gross were picked up by Air Vice Marshal Jamshed Khan, Air Vice Marshal Hafeezullah and Air Vice Marshal Rashid Kamal. The prize for the longest drive was won by Air Marshal Farhat Hussain and nearest to pin was won by Air Vice Marshal Saeed M Khan.
In the amateur category, Wing Commander Sagheer, Squadron Leader Mustafa and Air Commodore Tariq picked up the first, second and third net prizes while first, second and third gross were taken away by Wing Commander Rana Iftikhar, Wing Commander Salman and Group Captain Shahjahan respectively. The prize for the longest drive was won by Squadron Leader Sajjad and nearest to pin by Wing Commander Azhar Aslam.
In the Veterans’ A Category, Wing Commander Pervez, Air Commodore Pervez and Air Commodore Sohail won the first, second and third net prizes, while the prizes for first, second and third gross went to Wing Commander M Omar Khan, Wing Commander Abdul Nafay and Air Vice Marshal Zakaullah Khan respectively. The longest drive was hit by Group Captain Moin Ud Din and closest to pin by Air Commodore Sajid Raza.
In the Veterans’ B Category, Air Vice Marshal Anwar Mehmood Khan, Air Commdore Safdar Mehmood and Wing Commander Asad won the first, second and third net prizes, while the prizes for first, second and third gross went to Group Captain Khalid Mehmood Shikari, Group Captain Arshad and Sqn Ldr A Q Hijjazi respectively. The longest drive was hit by Wing Commander Pervez Mir and closest to pin by Group Captain Arshad.
CAS Veterans Golf Championship is an annual fixture, which aims at offering an opportunity to the serving PAF golfers in interacting with their veteran counterparts and promoting healthy sports activity.
