Violent crimes claim 8 lives across Karachi

At least eight people including a bridegroom became the fatal victims of violent crimes across Karachi.

According to one of such tragic reports, armed men opened fire on a wedding car near Raxer Bridge in Old Golimar area of the metropolis. The bridegroom and one more on board were killed in the attack, the report added.

The attack also left many others, who were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi. Police rushed to the area and cordoned off the area. They said armed assailants opened fire and managed to flee.

Earlier, six people lost their lives in different acts of violence across the city.

Muhammad Asghar, 35, son of Shan, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Korangi Darul Uloom, Sector No. 28, within the remit of Awami Colony police station.

The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The police said Asghar was an employee of Al-Karam Textile Mills and lived with his brother.

The police said the victim received two bullets in his upper torso. The victim hailed from Azad Kashmir.

Separately, 25-year-old Muhammad Samiullah, son of Musa, resident of Pathan Colony, was killed in firing by unknown assailants near Valika Hospital, within the jurisdiction of SITE-A police station.

The victim received two bullets. He hailed from Sawat.

Similarly, 40-year-old Syed Ansar Jafferi, son of Syed Murtaza Jaffari ,resident of Qasba Colony, was killed in firing by the unidentified armed men near Baloch Hotel, within the precincts of Orangi Town Police station.
