LIBF visited by thousands on second day

Despite rainy weather on Saturday, the third day of the Lahore International Book Fair (LIBF) was visited by thousands of people from all segments of society.

A large number of families and special delegations of various educational institutions also visited the unique literary activity.

Some companies also provided fun activities including art activities, paintings, table tennis etc for children. It is relevant to mention that around 40 foreign companies from United States, England, Germany, UAE, India and Turkey also set up their stalls in the book fair.

British broadcaster BBC and German broadcasters also set up their stalls to introduce their Urdu Websites and prominent journalists were available on these stalls to interact with listeners and readers.

Khansa Malik, a visitor said, ” I am very happy to visit the long-awaited book fair and it really gives me immense pleasure to see such a large number of books under one roof.”

Salim Malik, the organizer of the Lahore International Book Fair said that the total number of visitors in 2012 was over 500,000 and at least 70,000 visitors are expected this year.

The 27th Lahore International Book Fair (LIBF) is being organised in ExpoCenterJoharTown by Lahore International Book Fair Trust. Books on almost all major topics including politics, fiction, history, poetry, literature and religion are available. Unique stalls have been set up for children.

The book fair will remain open till Monday, February 18th.
