Kamran Faisal committed suicide, says new report

A fresh medical report has declared that deceased NAB official Kamran Faisal’s death was suicide, the media reported on Saturday.
According to the reports, the NAB investigation official had been visiting Poly Clinic Hospital for psychological treatment.
The report said there were no signs of torture on the body and he had not taken any poison before hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room in Federal Lodges.
Earlier, the medical report on Kamran Faisal’s death was finalised and handed over to Islamabad Police investigators on Saturday.
A medical board of Poly Clinic Hospital, Islamabad met with Dr IU Baig in the chair to review Punjab Forensic Science Agency’s report on Faisal’s death.
After finalising the report, the board sealed it and handed it over to police investigators.
The Islamabad police had directed the hospital administration to conclude the report soon so that it could be presented before the Supreme Court on February 19.
On January 23, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had formed a two-member bench to hear Faisal’s death case.
Changing the registrar’s note on Faisal’s death into a petition during the hearing, the apex court decided to form a separate bench to hear the case regarding the death of the NAB official.
The two-member bench, headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaja, will resume hearing in case from Thursday.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will resume hearing in the Rental Power Projects (RPPs) case on Wednesday.
The apex court had declared that the NAB official’s family and friends had expressed dissatisfaction over NAB’s investigation in the case.
