Interim govt to be finalised within a week: Shah

Minister for Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah on Saturday underlined that caretaker set up would be finalised within a week and the caretaker prime minister would be in place by March 15.

Talking to reporters‚ he said the PPP believed in politics of consensus and “we are consulting all parties inside and outside parliament including the PML-N in this regard”.

He said it was for the first time in the history that a democratic government would be completing its term, which was an encouraging sign.

To a question, the PPP leader said withdrawal of cases against someone was not a rare incident.

He said the alliance with the MQM was on the government level, every party was free to present its manifesto in elections.

Shah said the government of Punjab had wasted national wealth on schemes such as laptops and sasti roti scheme.

The minister said PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had no agenda in politics and the PPP was not afraid of the grand opposition alliance against it.

He said the PPP would continue to serve the people in accordance with the party’s manifesto.
