Groom among 2 killed in Karachi

As many as two people, including a bridegroom, were killed and several others were injured after armed assailants opened fire on a vehicle near Purana Golimar area.

According to reports, unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle carrying the bridegroom and others near Raxer Bridge in Purana Golimar area.

The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi. Police rushed to the crime scene and cordoned off the area.
Earlier, six people lost their lives in different acts of violence across the city.

Muhammad Asghar, 35, son of Shan, was gunned down near Korangi Darul Uloom, Sector No 28 in the Awami Colony police precincts.

The body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The police said Asghar was an employee of Al-Karam Textile Mills and lived with his brother.

The police said the victim was shot twice. The victim hailed from Azad Kashmir.

Separately, 25-year-old Muhammad Samiullah, son of Musa, a resident of Pathan Colony, was killed by unidentified assailants near Valika Hospital in the SITE-A police precincts.

The victim received two bullets. He hailed from Swat.

Similarly, 40-year-old Syed Ansar Jafferi, son of Syed Murtaza Jaffari ,a resident of Qasba Colony, was killed in firing by the unidentified armed men near Baloch Hotel, within the precincts of Orangi Town police precincts.
