Rao Akbar Latif, advisor to Pakistan Tennis Federation has urged the International Tennis Federation not to move the Davis Cup against New Zealand from Pakistan.

He also congratulated the Pakistan Davis Cup squad for winning the tie 3-2 against Sri Lanka. “Though it was not a very convincingly win but all is well which ends well,” he added.

Aqeel Khan with great tennis survival instinct rescued Pakistan against Sri Lanka and bailed out the team to fix the forthcoming tie against New Zealand.

“The PTF should approach the ITF and build-up certain pressure insisting the ITF for the holding the Davis Cup tie in Pakistan,” he added.

Rao Akbar suggested that forthcoming Davis Cup tie which will be held in the first week of April should be held at Lahore and the playing surface should be grass as the previous Davis Cup record on grass is much better than other surfaces
