25kg rotten meat seized in Rawalpindi

Officials of Rawalpindi Health Department on the complaints of citizens confiscated 25 kg of stale and rotten meat on Saturday and took action against five butchers in Shah Khalid Colony of Rawalpindi.

A team of department officials led by Dr Irshad of Sihala slaughter house and District Sanitary Inspector Malik Aziz raided butchers’ shops and recovered 25 kg of stale and stinking meat from Aslam, resident of Phalia.

They also fined Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Nawaz, Malik Fazal and Aqeeluddin for poor sanitary conditions in their shops.

They said the campaign against the substandard and stale meat would continue and anti-social elements would not be allowed to play with the health of the general public.
