Lashing out at President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Thursday vowed to end “Daku Raj” in the country with the support of the Sindi people.
Addressing a public gathering, the former prime minister said he was seeing a change in the thinking of the people of Sind, and with public support, the country would get rid of looters. He said that Zardari had looted people’s wealth and stashed it in Swiss banks. Thanking Mumtaz Bhutto for inviting him to address a huge rally, Nawaz said the people of Sind and the rest of the country were fed up with the current government, which had nothing for the people who were suffering many challenges and hardships. The PML-N chief said that if Zardari’s government had established colleges, universities and educational institutes, the youth of Sind would hold degrees and have better jobs and bright future.
He vowed to keep coming to help his “Sindi brothers” as he had done in the past. Criticising the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government, Nawaz said that its current ministers had nothing to do with the original ideology of the party or Benazir Bhutto. “I wonder where BB’s party has gone,” he said. “The government has failed to arrest the assassins of the leader of their party,” he said, adding that arresting BB’s killers should have been the top priority of the government. Nawaz vowed that he would put BB’s killers behind the bars.
He regretted that there was lawlessness in the country, saying that during his tenure he had eliminated the dacoits in three months, and if given chance again, he would completely eradicate the menace. Nawaz said he would resume peace in Karachi and Balochistan if elected to power again. He vowed to link Larkana with the motorway system.
