Karachi police in different raids arrested 131 accused, including 105 absconders and seven proclaimed offenders during the last 24 hours. The police recovered 22 pistols and one rifle from the nabbed accused. During the last 24 hours, four police encounters had taken place in the limits of different police stations, police sources said. Meanwhile, East Zone police of the city arrested 67 criminals in the last 24 hours. DIG Abdul Aleem said that the arrested criminals were involved in different crimes including target killings. Police also recovered weapons, drugs and other looted items from their possession. Meanwhile Boat Basin police also claimed to have arrested 24 criminals in different raids and recovered weapons, drugs and looted valuables from their possession. On the directives of Clifton Division Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nasir Aftab, Station House Officer (SHO) Naseer Muhammad Tanoli from Boat Basin Police Station along with a police party arrested seven members of different gangs namely Abdullah, Waleed Khan, Noor Mian, Tariq, Farhan, Iftikhar alias Khawar and Orangzaib while recovering two Kalashnikovs, four pistols, six magazines, 35 cartridges and snatched mobile phones from their possession. The accused were involved in street crimes. The police also arrested eight drug peddlers in separate raids and recovered a large quantity of hashish from their possession. Meanwhile, the police also arrested nine absconders involved in encounters, dacoities, kidnapping and other cases of criminal nature.
