Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of the petition filed by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) against the permanent bail of senior PPP-leader Makhdoom Shahab-ud-Din.

ANF requested the court to issue arrest-warrants of Shahab-ud-Din. The court rejected the request and disposed of the case.

However, the honorable court has agreed to hear the petitions against the bails of other individuals involved in the ephedrine case including Nadeem Zafar, Sheikh Ansaar and PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi. Notices have been issued to all the relevant parties.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk heard the Ephedrine Excess Quota Case on Friday.

During the hearing Shahid Abbasi represented ANF, Sardar Muhammad Ishaq represented Shahab-ud-Din and Hanif Abbasi, while two alleged criminals Nadeem Zafar and Sheikh Ansaar appeared before the court in their person.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor from ANF, Shahid Abbasi told the court that the accused, including Hanif Abbasi and others, have got bails from Lahore High Court. Their bails should be cancelled as it is alleged that proofs against them do exist, he added.

Afterwards, hearing of the court was adjourned for indefinite period.
