At least eight people were killed and five others were injured in a road accident on Friday at Dera Ghazi Khan.
Police and rescue teams said the incident took place near Kot Chatta when a truck collided with an over speeding passenger van on the Indus Highway.
Eight passengers died on the spot while five sustained critical injures. The deceased and the injured were shifted to district headquarters hospital of D.G Khan. Motorway police added that the “truck driver lost control over the heavy vehicle while taking a sharp turn on the highway”.
