At least 10 militants were killed and several others were reported as injured in Orakzai Agency when security forces conducted operations in different areas on Friday.
According to official sources, security forces engaged suspected militant hideouts in Mamozai area of upper Orakzai Agency with heavy artillery fire. Jet fighters were also used in the operation that destroyed two militant hideouts.
More than 40 insurgents have been killed during security forces’ operations in different areas of Orakzai Agency in the past few days.
Security officials have claimed that more than 90 percent of Orakzai has been cleared of insurgents in the ongoing military offensive in the region.
Orakzai is one of seven semi-autonomous tribal regions of the country where Pakistani Taliban and Al-Qaeda linked militants have carved out strongholds.
