President Zardari has finalised the list of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidates for National Assembly (NA) seats from Punjab and has constituted a parliamentary board of the party for awarding tickets to PPP aspirants across the province, sources learnt.
Per details, the board comprises Former Prime Minister and PPP vice chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, MNAs Imtiaz Safdar Warraich and Faryal Talpur, PPP central Punjab president Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz and Senator Jehangir Badr.
The president also appointed Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani head of the head of the PPP parliamentary board. Gillani called on the president and Chairman PPP Bilalwal Bhutoo Zardari at Bilawal House Lahore. Gillani assured the PPP chairman and co chairman that the party would from a majority goverment in Punjab. Replying to a query on the proposed new provinces to be carved out of Punjab, Gillani said that “demand for carving out two new provinces from Punjab is impractical and is an eye wash by PML-N to keep exploiting the masses of Southern Punjab
