A team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has left for Abu Dhabi to arrest Tauqi Sadiq, who is allegedly involved in a multi-billion-rupee corruption case while he was heading the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
According to media reports, the team included Additional Directors of FIA Faqir Mohammad and Anwar Qureshi. The team will hold talks with the officials of Interpol for the handing over of Sadiq to Pakistan. A FIA officer, Javed Raiz, who is posted in Muscat, has also been directed to reach UAE to assist the team.
According to reports, FIA team will present court orders to the Interpol officials after which, Sadiq will be brought back to Pakistan. Sources said Sadiq’s visa has been terminated and he is currently in Khaldia jail in Abu Dhabi.
