Dubai Islamic Bank bids farewell to UAE Consul General

Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan bid farewell to Consul General, His Excellency Suhail bin Matar Al Ketbi at a dinner held in Karachi. At this occasion His Excellency said that the UAE remains the biggest foreign investor in Pakistan and firmly remains committed to prosperity of the country.
Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Islamic Bank, the world’s first Islamic Bank was the co-organizer of the event with the UAE Consulate. The dinner was attended by Acting Governor of Sindh Mr. Nisar Khuro, Minister Mr. Sharjeel Memon, Minister Farooq Sattar, Minister Agha Siraj Durrani, Minister Shazia Marri, Dr. Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Deputy Governor State Bank Mr. Kazi Abdul Muktadir and various other diplomatic, government and business dignitaries. Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General thanked the guests for attending the event and said he will always remember the ten years he has spent in Pakistan and will miss the hospitality shown by its people. He said that UAE and Pakistan have brotherly relations and the UAE remains committed in increasing bilateral trade between the two countries. He mentioned organizing a UAE’s 40th National Day Celebrations “Magnificent 7” in Karachi at a time when no foreign investor was willing to organize such a large scale Trade Expo. He said he believed that Pakistan has the potential to become a major economic hub in the region and he will continue to promote Pakistan wherever he may be because Pakistan is his second home. The Deputy Governor of State Bank Mr. Kazi Abdul Muktadir also paid tribute to the Consul General’s remarkable efforts in boosting Pakistan’s banking sector with a sizable UAE foreign investment.
