Marghazar Zoo to get three lions, three cheetahs

The wild life park of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Marghazar Zoo is expected to get six new animals, three lions and three cheetahs, in the near future. Zoo administration had finalised cages for the new wild animals, which were likely to attract a good number of visitors. Marghazar Zoo Project Director Abdul Rasheed Khan confirmed the development in this connection and said that the arrival of these animals in the zoo may take weeks or even months but cages for these animals had already been finalised. Sources said CDA Environment Member Dr Kazim Naiz was expected get a lion from a party as a gift apart from buying a lion and a lioness. “Three cheetahs worth millions of rupees would also be brought to Marghazar Zoo soon,” he said. It should be mentioned here that the zoo is the centre of attraction not only for residents of Islamabad but also for tourists who visit the federal capital.
