Japan grants $ 359,877 to three Pakistani NGOs

The Japanese government has extended financial support of $ 359,877 (approx. Rs. 35 million) to three Pakistani NGOs: Ayun and Valleys Development Programme ($ 120,571), Courage Development Foundation (US$ 123,349) and SUKHI (US$ 115,957). The grants would assist their activities to improve infrastructure and provide clean water in rural parts of the country.

The agreements for the three projects were signed on 11th February 2013, at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence in Islamabad, between H E Mr Hiroshi OE, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and the Presidents of the three organizations.

The grant to the Ayun and Valleys Development Programme will be used for the construction of four tracks and one bridge in the Ayun and Rumboor Valleys of Chitral in order to facilitate transportation for around 7,400 people in the area. The grants to the Courage Development Foundation and SUKHI will enable the installation of water supply systems in l villages of Dera Ghazi Khan, Haripur and Murree, benefiting nearly 5,300 people who have poor access to clean water.

At the signing ceremony, Ambassador Oe highlighted the importance of building rural infrastructure and improving of access to clean water for the economic and social development of Pakistan. He also expressed his hope that these interventions would result in uplifting the quality of life of the people of the project areas and in doing so would further enrich the cherished relations between the people of Japan and Pakistan.

    is mostly need of drinking water we assessed all villages of coastal belt ,
    and they have many live stock which depends on water , if we will provide there hand pump they can save these human life and live stocks, so pleas support us for hand pump ,

    bricks, pipe , cement , ret send, 1st time we have need for only 200 two hundred hand pumps support for 10 ten villages,

My name is noreen hameed from SUKH human development welfare foundation (SHDWF) rawalpindi, we are working on women empowerment micro finance, technical training skills for ladies. the need of our community UC 77 there is no hospital or dispensary, Stinking heap of garbage in Dhoke Gangal is spreading different diseases among the residents of the area but the concerned department is reluctant to remove it. The area falls under the jurisdiction of the Potohar Town administration where not a single dustbin is available for the waste. The residents children are facing abdominal diseases like diarrhoea due to the ever-increasing heap of garbage. In case of wind or storm scattered garbage enter their houses, while in rainy situation scanting smell makes it difficult to breathe environmental garbeg.
    The need of our area and is industrial home for ladies (for handicraft).
