Minister for Frontier Regions Engineer Shaukat Ullah on Saturday replaced Barrister Masud Kausar as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) governor.
According to details, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in a high-level meeting decided to replace Kausar with Shaukat Ullah as KP governor. No reason was given for this decision. However, the move could have been in response to complaints lodged by several party members from both KP and adjoining Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA).
Engineer Shaukat Ullah will be the first person from FATA who will be administered oath as KP governor. Belonging to Bajaur Agency, Shaukat Ullah was elected to the National Assembly for first time in February 2008. Later he was adjusted in the federal cabinet first as Minister of State and later was given a ministry.
