Daily production of raw gas in the country increased to 4273 mmcfd out of which 3886 mmcfd is available to sale against constrained demand of 5416 mmcfd. A senior official in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resource said that currently Pakistan’s raw gas production has exceeded to 4273 mmcfd which is not enough to meet the growing demands of gas in the country. He said that 132 exploration licenses for exploration of oil and gas reservoirs are being operated by various exploration and production companies while another 60 blocks for exploration of oil and gas reservoirs have been advertised for award of exploration licenses on competitive basis. Official further said that for fiscal year 2012-13, forty-four exploration wells have been planned for exploration of oil and gas reservoirs.
