The first phase of NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan began as 25 containers entered Pakistan through Torkham border on Sunday.
Pakistani forces are providing the routine security for a convoy of 25 containers from Torkham to Karachi.
Pakistani custom officials confirmed clearing the containers for travel through the motorway.
The second fleet of containers of military equipment is expected to reach Torkham from Bagram very soon.
In January, US President Barack Obama announced that he was accelerating the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan, with the 66,000 American troops moving this spring into a largely training and advisory role and Afghan troops taking the lead throughout the country in fighting the Taliban-led insurgency.
