Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday slammed the Punjab government for resorting to lathi charge and arresting young doctors.
In a twitter message, Iman Khan said: “Condemn tear gassing, lathi charge and arrest of young doctors peacefully protesting against Punjab Government.”
The police used baton charge against the protesting doctors of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) and arrested several of them.
Police also thrashed Shaukat Basra after he tried to stop the crackdown on doctors.
The YDA continued its hunger strike for the seventh consecutive day.
On Friday the YDA announced that they would disrupt the inauguration ceremony of Metro Bus Service on Sunday unless the Punjab government fulfills its demands.
They said that the Punjab government would be responsible if any unwanted incident happened if they were stopped to participate in the ceremony.
