NADRA offices closed after Defence attack

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has gone on strike in the metropolis after its office in Defence was attacked by activists of a political party. Some unidentified armed miscreants launched an attack on the NADRA office located in the city’s posh area of Defence, Khayaban-e-Ittehad, and went on rampage with aerial firing, triggering panic in the entire area. According to the NADRA crew, the attackers wanted to have foreigners’ identity cards ready for them. The office’s glass panes were smashed and the crew stepped out of the premises. Expressing lack of security following the brazen attack, the NADRA employees closed all of their offices in the city for an indefinite period of time. The citizens are facing problems owing to this unexpected strike by NADRA’s employees. Gizri police registered a case against the attackers and conducted raids in Sultanabad and PIDC bridge area for the arrest of accused involved in the attack. It should be mentioned here that NADRA is preparing identity cards, alien registration cards, smart cards, birth certificates and death certificates.
