Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that conducting general elections on schedule was a prerequisite for stability in Pakistan, adding, that all conspiracies to delay elections would be foiled.
The Punjab CM was talking to media personnel at his residence. He said that political parties which could not ‘digest’ the popularity of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) among the masses were plotting schemes to delay elections.
The CM said that that Metro Bus Project was the brain child of a long term vision and would lessen traffic chaos in the provincial capital apart from facilitating common citizens in their daily ‘commute’ routines. He said that if the citizens grant positive feedback regarding the Metro Bus Project, the PML-N would expand the project into other major urban centers of the province.
The CM challenged everyone to point out any irregularity(s) in the functioning of the Punjab government since 2008, adding, that the provincial government had set a example of unprecedented meritocracy and transparency during the last four and a half years of its reign.
