Pakistan Railways has started installing CCTV cameras at Rawalpindi railway station.
Initially, cameras would be installed on all the gates of the railway station, while the installation of cameras on plate-form and waiting rooms would be completed soon. Railway officials said that scanning machines would also be installed for the checking of baggage of the passengers. Moreover, security of railway tracks and trains would also be increased and commandos would be deployed with railway police to ensure round the clock security.
CCTV cameras have already been installed at Karachi, Rohri and Lahore railway stations. After Pindi, cameras would also be installed at the railway stations of another 12 districts of the country.
