The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday issued notice to the Director General (DG) Intelligence Bureau (IB) Akhtar Gorchani to file a report regarding misuse of funds, a private TV channel reported.
A three-judge bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing a suo motu case.
The response would be submitted by the attorney general on behalf of the IB chief.
During today’s proceeding, former IB chief Tariq Lodhi submitted his response in a sealed envelope while requesting the court to keep the report confidential.
The court granted him travel permission on the submission of the report.
