Number of dead keeping rising in port city

In a continuing saga of violence across the country’s financial hub, at least 15 people, including a policeman, lost their lives on Thursday in various incidents of a lapse in law and order.
Police sources said that a man identified as Amjadur Rehman was shot dead in the Gulbahar area in the city while he was in a shop. While security forces were busy investigating his murder, gunmen opened fire in the same area killing Waseem Siddiqui, 45. He was shot dead at Liaquat Chowk.
The police found two bodies in gunny bags from the Garden area. They were identified as Mola Bux and Bilal. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). Moreover, a body of an unidentified man was also found from Sohrab Goth area.
The police said a 27-year-old man identified as Asim was killed in firing in Old Haji Camp. His body was shifted to Civil Hospital. Dr Abid Mirza also lost his life when unidentified assailants opened fire at a clinic in the North Nazimabad area near Usmani Mosque.
Furthermore, at least two people, including a police officer, were killed in two separate incidents of firing in Baldia Town. One more person was killed in an incident of firing at a hotel on Hawks Bay Road, while another was killed in Malir’s Saudabad area. One person was killed in Soldier Bazaar.
Meanwhile, three suspects including a police official were arrested in a search operation by the police in Clifton Block-9.
POLICE MOBILE TARGETED: At least one police official was killed and another injured when a remotely detonated bomb exploded outside the Mominabad Police Station in the Orangi area of the city. Seven others were also injured in the blast, which occurred when the police vehicle was passing by a garbage dump.
