Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Thursday that war and use of power was not a solution for any problem, adding that weapons and blood increase hatred.
Nawaz said that Pakistan was paying a hefty price in the war on terror, asking the government to take the Taliban’s offer seriously.
In an official statement, Nawaz urged the government to initiate serious and result-oriented talks with the Taliban without delay. He said the PML-N had always supported resolution of issues through talks.
He also urged the government to implement the resolutions adopted by the parliament. “The nation wants peace, and without peace stability and pleasure are not possible,” he said, adding that all political forces should initiate talks for the best interest of the nation and state.
Earlier this week, Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan had said that his group could only go ahead with negotiations if certain politicians, Nawaz Sharif, acted as guarantors. “We do not trust the army, it has always broken past agreements, even agreements we made with politicians,” Ehsan had said in a seven-and-a-half minute video, in which he appeared flanked by armed masked men. “We need solid guarantors who can assure us about the army, because the army is the real power in Pakistan,” he said, adding that the TTP needed assurances from Nawaz and the leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).

Taliban know that they are get their men released and can ask for concessions at this weak times by black mailing politicians and once got that they will spread further in cities and no one can arrest them as so called wise politicians will be busy either in election or making new govt
