After months of waiting, Ali Zafar’s fans are in for a treat. The much anticipated remake of the Sai Paranjpe’s 1981 classic, Chashme Buddoor, in which Ali Zafar plays Farooque Shaikh’s character, is coming to cinemas on April 5. To sate the eager fans, the studios have not only released the promo poster with Ali smack in the centre, but also the official trailer. Since whatever Ali has touched in Bollywood has turned to gold, film gurus are already predicting a hit. This would be Ali Zafar’s fourth film in Bollywood where he has already garnered huge international fame for his performance in hits like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and London Paris New York. When asked to comment upon the project Ali said, “When I saw the original Chashme Buddoor, I knew that the plot must retain its authenticity. Also, while it must have been a challenge to render it into modern times and aesthetics, David sir has done a brilliant job. It’s a family entertainer. I think we are all excited about it.” As remakes go, Bollywood could not have picked a more popular film to modernise, but with Ali Zafar in the lead they could not have been more spot-on with the casting. Ali, who has mesmerised the audience with his musical talent and low-key art exhibits which he often auctions for charity, continues to test the boundaries of the entertainment industry and continues to impress with his talent.
