Pakistan India talks on improving bilateral trade and giving Most Favorite Nation status to India would be held on February 21 in New Delhi.

Federal Commerce Minister Amin Fahim has sent a summary to Prime Minister for approval of the agenda of his four day visit to India. Earlier Commerce Minister had canceled his scheduled visit to India from January 27 to 29, on the invitation of his Indian counterpart, Anand Sharma, to participate in the 19th Partnership Summit being organised by the Indian government due to tensions along the Line of Control between the two countries.

During his visit Amin Fahim will hold talks on Pak-India trade with Indian officials. He will also attend SAARC Business Conference in India

  1. India should not be given MFN untill and unless India give the similar status to Pakistan. Both the Nations should exchange the document of MFN for eachother at the same time. This status should be renewed every year . The Major disputes should be first resolved and then such actions should be implemented. Both the Nations should express and demonstrate CBM's . It should not be one sided love affair.

Bilateral trade should be on equality basis in terms of US$ .

    • MFN is given under WTO rules. India had given the status to Pakistan some 18 years ago and Pakistan is yet to reciprocate. India was magnanimous enough in not giving complaint to WTO in this regard. Right.
