Taking strict notice of the repeated halt in development work at Sector G-14, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amir Ali has ordered establishment of a police check post in the area.
Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICT) informed the meeting held the other day that Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) had acquired 2000 kanals in 2008 but the foundation awarded the contract of development work in Sector G-14 in 2012. In addition, uplift work was initially stopped due to delay in release of funds to the contractor and later due to intervention of local people.
SSP Islamabad Police was directed to setup police check post in the sector with immediate effect. Deputy Commissioner also directed district collector to hold talks with locals for peaceful settlement of the issue in order to complete the development work in time.
It is expected that development work would start in the sector in next few days and a special meeting of the foundation, revenue and other concerned official is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday
