At least 166 government girls’ primary and middle schools in Rawalpindi district lack boundary walls, causing troubles for the teachers and students.

The absence of boundary walls is not only a security threat to the female teachers and students but is also acting as a attraction for men who indulge in eve teasing.

Residents of the areas= said that idlers keep wandering around the schools and hurl remarks on the teachers and students. The situation is affecting the educational activities in the schools, adding, the schools have been functional in the same condition for last many years.

When contacted, District Education Officer (Female) Naseem Altaf said that school administrations had funds and they could use the funds for repairing and construction work in the schools.
